Silvia Sbaffoni
Silvia Sbaffoni is a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering. She was a researcher in Environmental Engineering at SAPIENZA, University of Rome from 2001 to 2012. During this period her main research fields were: remediation of contaminated sites (soil and groundwater), treatment and management of solid waste, bio-hydrogen production from organic waste, treatment and management of wastewater. She took part to several research projects founded by both private companies and public institutions on the themes of environmental engineering. Since 2012 she is a Researcher in ENEA (Environmental Technologies Technical Unit) working on Life Cycle Assessment, resource efficiency, circular economy, industrial ecology and industrial symbiosis, resource audit, circular economy indicators. She is involved in the implementation of the first Italian Industrial Symbiosis Platform in Sicily (project founded by the Italian Ministry of Education and Research) and in several funded projects on life cycle assessment, sustainability evaluation, resource efficiency, industrial ecology and industrial symbiosis. She is co-author of more than 90 scientific papers published on international peer-reviewed journals, Italian journals, proceedings of national and international conferences.
